Car kits will be handed out at the pack meeting on December 18th 2013. If you still need one see your den leader.

Dates and Times:
Weigh In - Fri, Feb 07 2014 6pm to 8pm - All cars will be weighed in. You will be able to make any changed to the car until you are satisfied with it. After the final weigh in all cars will be tagged with the scouts name and kept until the time of the race. You can not make any changes to the cars on race day.
Race Day - Sat, Feb 08 2014 8am-12:30pm - Racers will be called up by rank to race your cars.

Please arrive on time for your rank. These are arrival times not race times. We would like the boys to watch some of the previous ranks racing so they will know the process.
If you are not checked in before your race starts you will not be able to race.
Each car will race one time on each lane of each track. Six times total, the lowest combine time wins. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Pinewood Derby Rules
- Car Dimension Rules
- The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
- The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2 ¾ inches.
- The car must have 1 ¾” clearance between the wheels.
- The car must have 3/8” clearance underneath the body so it does not rub on the track. Do not put weights on the bottom of the cars.
- The car shall not exceed 5.0 ounces.
- The official race scale that is used at car check-in shall be considered final.
- The official pine wood block must be used. The block may be shaped in any way that is desired.
- Official BSA wheels must be used. The wheels may not be cut, drilled, beveled or rounded. You may remove the seams and imperfections from the wheels.
- The axles may not be altered or polished
- Axles may be lubricated with a dry lubricant only. No oil or grease of any kind.
- Once a car passes inspection and is entered into the race, only race committee members can touch it.
- If the car loses a wheel, or is otherwise damaged, the racer shall have 5 minutes to make repairs.
- Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete.
- The Inspection Committee has the responsibility to disqualify those cars that do not meet these rules.
